Tsukuyomi no Mikoto is one of the most important gods known as the Three Noble Gods in Japanese mythology.Furthermore Tsukuyomi no Mikoto is also the god of the moon which is closely related to Japanese life such as the calendar and annual events.The Yomi part of Tsukuyomi no Mikoto's name is said to mean not only reading the moon but also Yomi (underworld).Yomi refers to the world of the dead and Tsukuyomi no Mikoto is said to be the god of the world of the dead.
