Caption:This piece is Racine's Song of Songs (also known as Racine's Hymn or Racine's Hymn ) a religious poem by French playwright Jean Racine (1639-99). It became extremely famous in the 19th century when French composer Gabriel Fauré composed a choral work using the lyrics. (Incidentally Fauré's choral work is an incredibly beautiful piece and is still frequently cited today as a masterpiece.)
